Our Third Dinner Event was Dynamite!

Ghost, goblins, witches and pumpkins galore adorned the recent San Jose State Quarterback Cub meeting at Dave and Buster's on Thursday, October 30th. The Spartan faithful gathered to share spirits and spirits while getting all treats in the form of mini pizzas, pretzel bites and Swedish meatballs to start off the event. That was followed by a multi course buffet which led up to the program portion of the dinner. Defensive coordinator Greg Robinson discussed the recent Navy game and previewed our upcoming Mountain West contest again Colorado State on November 1st.  He was joined by Spartan favorite Travis Riciti who discussed his role on the team, his preparation for each game, his coursework at the university and his future plans.

The evening's featured guest was Dan Clark - Nitro of American Gladiator fame.  He discussed his playing days at SJSU and his acting career as one of TV's first reality stars. He told the assembled that his two biggest audiences came at the annual SJSU-Stanford game where he played before over 75,000 fans and his stint at Madison Square Garden where he was greeted by 17,500 screaming American Gladiator fans. He told of how his TV career opened doors for him, even being invited to an event in Southern California that featured presidents Reagan, Carter and Bush senior. He also told of his almost fanatic fitness routine and how despite that routine, how stunned he was to recently have a heart attack at the ripe old age of 49. It was that experience that inspired him to set up a national obstacle course company that funds his foundation which raises funds for autism research. He also talked about his long time affinity and devotion to San Jose State and how his recent medical problems prompted him to attend our QBC dinner.

The SJSU Quarterback Club features inside information from players and coaches along with fascinating featured guests who bring their SJSU experience and expertise to the supporters. Additionally the club serves as a gathering place for fans to mix and mingle in a fantastic sports centered venue. Membership is open to all SJSU fans and supporters with memberships starting at just $100.00 for an entire season's of  fun and fandom! Corporate memberships are also available with the opportunity for sponsors to share their business opportunities with the Spartan family.

Our Second Dinner Event of The Season

What an awesome opportunity it was to hear Bob Ladoceur, SJSU Spartan and the outstanding former Head Coach of De La Salle High School Spartans, with a 399-25-3 lifetime record.   Bob was a running back on the 1974-1975 SJSU teams.  He went on to a career so successful that they decided to make a movie about it: "When the Game Stands Tall".

In addition to hearing Bob's inspirational message we heard from Patrick Walsh, another former Spartan player and current coach of Serra High School.

And of course we got to mingle with some current players.  Coach Fred Guidici brought PK Austin Lopez and LS Ryan DiSalvo from Special Teams.

This is the type of value that you get with your Quarterback Club membership!  There are few, if any, other FBS schools where their fans and boosters get such a close personal contact with the coaches and players as we get through the Spartan Football Quarterback Club. Surely it is far more real and personal than anyone can get on an Internet web site blog.  Look for this event to become a QBC member exclusive event in the future... Membership has it's privileges.

We'll look forward to seeing you at all the exciting 2014 Club events.

  Go Spartans!
